Now Entering the Third Trimester

This Friday I will be 26 weeks pregnant which marks the beginning of the final trimester. Don't ask me about pregnancy math; I just repeat what I'm told when I go to see Marion.

Sometime in the next two weeks I have to go get another glucose test. I've had one already and passed but the likelihood of me passing this next one is, to be honest, slim. It *could* happen, I s'pose, but I'm certainly not counting on it.

I'll also be starting kick counts soon (November 12th, to be exact).

This pregnancy seems to be flying by!

25 Weeks

Baby Center says...

"Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — doesn't sound like much, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. His hair is probably recognizable now (in color and texture), although both may change after he's born."

The baby is getting stronger and stronger and now, when he kicks me, you can actually see my stomach move. I don't remember that being the case this early in the first pregnancy. The other day when he was churning away in there I grabbed Dax's hand and placed it on my belly so he could feel his baby brother kick. I have to say that it freaked him right on out.

As for me, I'm still having bouts of low blood pressure from time to time and I'm definitely starting to feel a bit "waddley". My feet are swelling just like they did the first time I was pregnant. Whee! Now entering the Really Uncomfortable Stage! Please keep your arms and legs inside the car at all times!

My next appointment is on Tuesday and I expect they will tell me it is time, once again, to test my glucose levels. If you remember, I've been tested once already and I passed but since I had gestational diabetes when pregnant with Dax they will test me again. Fingers crossed, please (although I'm fully expecting to get it again and the shock it would cause should that not occur could potentially be detrimental).
