19 weeks (and then some)

Do you know what happens when you fail to update your son's website on the day that he turns a week older...instead, waiting until six days later? You find that you don't know where to start because he changes so quickly and has so many "firsts" that you can barely keep up.

Can I blame my inability to update on the fact that Dax's Nana and Gigi are in town? Even though I should have updated on Monday and they didn't even get here until Tuesday? Even though having them here has actually afforded me more time to do things than I usually have? Yes? I can? Excellent!

Here is a picture of those two culprits with Dax. Even though they caused me to not be able to update his website, he still loves them. This was the first time he got to meet his great-grandmother.

I guess he thought that he'd show off for them this week. He decided that it would be a good week to start sitting up by himself for a bit for the first time.

He also had his very first solid food. Let me tell you, this kid loves carrots. Loves them. I should have known because, when I was pregnant, I couldn't get enough of them myself.

He had the hang of the eating thing right away. You'd think he had been sneaking out and raiding the fridge while we slept for at least a month.

Dax also had his four month checkup on Monday. He is 24 inches and weighs 15 pounds. He had to get more shots but this time I didn't cry at all and he only cried momentarily. Unfortunately, he did get a little fever this time and he felt under the weather for a few days. But he's back to his old self again, now.

Nana and Gigi have to go back to Colorado tomorrow but Dax has another "first" tonight. He'll be meeting his second cousin, Neil.
