20 Weeks

Last night I wrote a huge entry chock full of interesting things. It was fantastic. You'll have to take my word on that because I idiotically shut the window accidentally and I had not yet saved my masterpiece.

I've heard it said that your IQ literally decreases after you have a baby. Take this as proof.

So, yeah. Here are the highlights.

Dax has been introduced to three foods now and he loves them all. After the carrots we served up some delicious sweet potatoes. Yesterday he had his first taste of squash. Peas are next on my list. We'll see how that goes over.

Dax has mastered the Art of Getting Attention. His methods are varied and insidious. There's the "Lie here very still so they think I'm asleep but when they peek into the crib, flash them the charming smile that they can not resist so they are forced to pick me up" move. And the "Fake a cough so that mommy will be concerned" move. Then there's the "Fake, loud laughter because everyone seems to come running to adore me when I laugh" move. Sometimes he combines moves. The fake cough and fake laugh together are particularly amusing and effective. Although, it did scare the bejeezus out of Cat when Dax decided to try it out at 4AM. He has also taken to loud shreiking and shouting.

He had a wonderful ime last week hanging out with his Nanna and Gigi. He also got to meet Cousin Neil (who he loved and who brought him his very first pair of Nikes and a very cool SFMOMA t-shirt).

Because a picure is worth a thousand words and because you probably would like to look at pictures of a cute baby rather than reading any more of my rambling, the rest of this entry is brought to you by Nanna's camera.

Here's Dax with his Gigi....

I particularly liked the "fake cough" myself, although I fell for the charming smile more than once. Of course, I AM his Nana so it doesn't take much for me to pick him up - like being in the same state for example:)
