Ring Around the Roseola

Dax had a fever last week that culminated in a Mysterious Rash and a call to the pediatrician this morning. After asking me a few questions about how high his fever had been, how had he been behaving, what the rash looked like...the pediatrician on-call declared that Dax has Roseola.

Roseaola, at least to me, sounds like something awful. But if you Google "horrible childhood ailments"? You won't find it. Apparently it is harmless and quite common.

Phew!

Dax is still very much enjoying the aftermath of his birthday, playing with all his new toys, listening to fabulous music, and having us read books to him over and over again.

He does the cutest thing when he wants you to read to him. He brings the book over to you and spins around in front of you until you grab him and guide him into your lap.

Sometimes he enjoys looking at books alone. Here he is enjoying a book his Gigi gave him awhile back.

Another one of his favorite new pastimes is dragging things. He'll drag anything. Empty water bottles, video game controllers, his pajama bottoms. Fortunately, he got some pull toys for his birthday. He pulls them around and around and around the great room. Here's a shot of him that I caught the other day.

In other news....Cat has been measuring his son frequently, counting the centimeters until he can turn him around to face forward in the car. He's this close.
