His father's son

Sometimes when I look at Dax I can totally see Cat in him. Sometimes it is because he is furrowing his brow in a Cat-like manner. Sometimes it is because he looks a bit like Cat does in his baby pictures. Sometimes it is because Dax is doing something goofy just to make me laugh and that's something his dad would do.

This is one of my favorite pictures of the two of them. And this is where you say a silent prayer that Dax never becomes a Dodgers fan.

Dax was supposed to have a playdate with Miranda today but we had to cancel. We had to cancel because yesterday Dax had something that begins with an "f" and ends in "ever". *sigh*

We haven't seen Siobhan and Miranda in months so I was very disappointed that we had to cancel. But I did get this picture in my e-mail this morning.

Aaaaand....

He's still sick. His ears are infected again and he's extremely congested. He sounds like a teeny, tiny Darth Vader.

Here's a picture taken the other day when his fever hit 103.5. As you can see, he feels awful here.

But how hilarious is that "cold compress" that Cat put on the boy's head? It's a HUGE washcloth. I laughed and laughed. It did the trick, though.

He's been fever-free for a few days now and he has a follow-up with Dr. P tomorrow to see if the antibiotics are helping. In the meantime, I have high hopes of posting an entry in the near future that doesn't contain the words "fever", "infection", or "awful".

Defective

Um. Yeah. Our baby? He's defective. He keeps overheating and leaking. This is why God made babies so cute, right? Otherwise you'd just trade them in for a less gooey model when they got sick.

Poor Dax is still under the weather. He keeps running fevers off and on and I'm starting to get a little bit tired of New Poop Frontiers. Mostly I just hate that he can't tell me exactly what's wrong and that I can't make him all better with hugs, kisses, and cuddles.

We'll be going back to see Dr. P tomorrow. In the meantime, let's just look at the cute little guy.

Yeah. I guess we'll keep him.
