The Annual Fall Tour O' Pumpkin Patches

Fall is my favorite season. One of the reasons for that is that we get to go to all the really cool pumpkin patches in our area.

Today we went to Fog Willow because it is tradition. It was actually Dax's second trip to this pumpkin patch this year because his school took a field trip here last week. During the field trip he got to do a lot of cool behind the scenes things but today he got to do something new....ride a pony!

Dax's pony was named Pepper and I do believe the boy loved this even more than the hay ride.

While we were there he also climbed a giant pyramid built of hay bales, made his daddy pull him around in a wagon, played with a baby goat, attempted to pick up pumpkins that weigh more than he does, and dutifully posed for the obligatory photos.

Next weekend I think we're going to go to Bishop's because I've been told they have pig races there and Dax is all about pigs right now. He's so very into pigs that he's been insisting that he IS a baby pig for nearly two weeks now. So, yeah, I think that would be a big hit.

I just love fall!

I love this phase

Dax has entered the "I need a band-aid" phase.

You can see he already has one on the back of each hand yet here he is opening yet another one. The best part is that he doesn't even have any ouchies to bandage. Although, he'll gladly hold his pudgy little mitts up to your face to show you the invisible injuries and, when you fail to see them, he'll just look at you sadly as if to say, "You poor, dumb thing."

*sigh*

Want to know what Dax WON'T be for Halloween this year?

See, first he wanted to be a monkey but we were having trouble finding a costume. So then I tried to convince him to be a doggy because of a cute costume we saw at Target. But, no. Then when the Pottery Barn Kids catalog came in he saw this adorable Pumpkin costume and proceeded to harass me with "Mommy, I wanna be a punkin'" for several days.

Wouldn't you know it, they were sold out of his size.

But that didn't get me out of enabling my dear son's pumpkin love. Not in the age of eBay. I bought it and it arrived yesterday. We tried it on and it is a perfect fit. Of course he LOVED it, right?

Wrong. He hates it. As you may have surmised from that look on his face in the picture above. Now he says he wants to be a doggy.

(If you would like to dress your 2 to 3 year old as a pumpkin then you can buy this adorable costume from my brand new listing on eBay.)
